The choice between Biden and Trump was a tough one, between “the very bad” and “the worst of the worst.” But maybe it’s different in the case of Kamala Harris, who will be a choice between “the very bad” and “the less bad.” The former cheerful judge of South Asian descent, who hasn’t reached the age of sixty yet, might be the surprise as the first woman to govern America and the second colored figure to enter the White House. Is this smart woman getting closer to defeating the merchant of pleasure and the stubborn wrestler? Does the Arab and Muslim voting bloc understand the importance of uniting their voice and positions at this critical juncture in Arab and Muslim history? If we don’t understand this now, when will we then?

She also emphasized that “Hamas is a terrorist group, and Israel has the right to defend itself.” Barak Ravid, the well-known Israeli journalist, reported that a senior Israeli official believed that Netanyahu was upset by Harris’s statements and thought they would harm the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California, to a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. This diverse racial background has given her a deep understanding of various social and cultural issues, reflected in her policies and interests. She began her professional life as a prosecutor, working hard to achieve justice and defend human rights. She advanced in her career to become the Attorney General of California, where she gained a strong reputation as a defender of social justice and human rights.

In 2017, Kamala Harris became the first woman of South Asian and Jamaican descent elected as a member of the U.S. Senate.
